My Background

As a single Mom, my three sons are everything to me. Decades ago, when I got too sick to care for them and do my job as Mom, or work my regular schedule, I began a journey seeking total control of my health and energy.  What can I say?  I am admittedly a 'control freak'!

I had a solid food base, and I built from there, adding in new tools and info as the need arose.  There has been lots of formalized training;  Johnson & Wales University, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy.  Lots of experimentation:  gluten, sugar, dairy, egg and soy free diets, as well as keto, paleo, and vegan.  Lots of independent study on topics like genetics and nutrigenomics

Still, a work in progress, every day is healthier than the preceding one and it's my goal and passion to help you on your journey to feeling your best.

About Anna Bass, Riverview FL Massage Therapist

My Approach

I have so much empathy for people who are hurting.  Bringing about additional PAIN is not my goal with how I provide bodywork.  I don't want you walking away and then being sore for days after one of my massages.

I know how good it can feel at times if someone mashes on a sore spot.  We often walk a fine line between pleasure and pain.  It's important to understand that often where you feel pain is not the actual area of concern.  It's my job to figure out the source and address it, and I do this typically using a variety of modalities in every massage I give.  Because of this, my rates do not change for different modalities, with the exception of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

I also think it important to understand that DEEP TISSUE and DEEP PRESSURE do not necessary mean the same thing. The goal of a Deep Tissue massage is to affect the deeper levels of tissue.  That can often be achieved WITHOUT feeling as if I'm going through your body to the floor!

Upon meeting, I do take a bit of time talking over your health intake forms before putting my hands on you.  If you book for 60 minutes of bodywork, you get 60 minutes of bodywork.  I would suggest that if you come see me with a severe acute or chronic issue, and you wish to also have a full-body treatment, you book for at least 90 minutes.  I'm very methodical in my approach so if you say you have neck/upper back pain, I know before touching you, bare minimum,  I need to look at 34 different muscles - which takes time.  So, plan accordingly.
